Our Performance

At Sonae Sierra we use the three-pillar framework of economic, environmental and social performance to guide our business activities and decisions and to ensure that we are operating in a sustainable way. On this page you can find a summary of our environmental and social performance since 2006, whilst our economic performance can be found on Our Figures.

Some examples of our quantitative achievements since records began include:

  • We have increased the electricity efficiency (excluding tenants) of the owned portfolio (kWh/m2 mall and toilet area/year) by over 29%.
  • We increased the total waste recycled as a proportion of waste produced (% by weight) by over 142%.
  • Average tenant satisfaction index has increased by 64%.
  • The number of non-conformances per hour of Safety Preventive Observation (SPO) has decreased by 73%.
